Student holding a globe — study abroad with Vital Link Consultants

“Sir, baghair IELTS admission ho jayega?” — This may be the most-asked question in our office. The honest answer is: in some countries and universities, yes — but “without IELTS” never means “without English.”

First, understand the difference

Every good university needs proof that you can study in English. IELTS is just ONE way to prove it. Other accepted proofs, depending on the university, include:

  • MOI — an English Proficiency Certificate from your college/university (Medium of Instruction)
  • The university’s own English test or interview
  • PTE, TOEFL, Oxford ELLT or LanguageCert instead of IELTS
  • A preparatory/foundation English year before your degree

Countries where no-IELTS routes commonly exist

  • Turkey — many universities admit through their own test, MOI, or a preparatory year
  • European Cyprus — many colleges assess English themselves or accept MOI
  • Malaysia — many universities do their own English placement instead of asking for IELTS
  • Italy — some universities accept MOI; others require IELTS — it depends on the program
  • Spain — varies by university; private universities are often more flexible

Where an English test is normally required

The UK is strict (IELTS or another approved test for most students), Canadian colleges work on test scores, Sweden typically requires IELTS 6.5, and Australia requires an approved test score. Anyone promising you “zero English, guaranteed visa” for these countries is not being honest with you.

Our honest advice

Do not choose a country only because it skips IELTS — choose the country that fits your budget, course and future, then let us confirm with the actual university what English proof IT accepts for YOUR profile. That confirmation is free at our office.
